Smith's Rustic Ranch, LLC is a generational homesteading farm. It became a homestead in 1837 and received the Hoosier Homestead award and Centennial Award, in 1977 from the State of Indiana.

 

Our farm started out with crops, sheep, chickens, Shetland ponies and mules, and a rental house for the farm hand. In 1995 our farm expanded from a horse ranch to a homesteading farm, which includes several on going projects. We offer local raw honey, fresh produce, chickens, turkeys, guineas, farm fresh eggs, and beekeeping services/education.

 

Greg and Marietta Smith - owners, became lifetime members of the Indiana Beekeepers Association in July 2000, and attended Beekeeping School in Carmel, IN in February. They mentor new and existing beekeepers, offer educational opportunities about beekeeping and homesteading, classes and activities.

We expanded our business in 2023 adding a Serve Safe certified, cottage bakery and kitchen business, to offer additional products to our customers. We offer a variety of homemade baked goods, pastries, mixes, and jams/jellies. We offer seasonal and holiday specials and take special requests. Orders can be placed online or by contacting us directly.

​

Future plans are to add a storefront with a larger kitchen, family activities, schedule live events, holiday events, festivals a few times a year, and rent space for business meetings, family reunions, birthday parties and special occasions. At this time our storefront is under construction. We hope to have a family friendly agribusiness; a place to bring kids for educational opportunities, entertainment and games, special activities, bird watching, space to relax and reading a book, holiday fun, for businesses or entrepreneurs to meet with a potential clients, and a social place to meet with friends.
